As many who have followed our previous blogs will know, we recently launched our unique whisky list here at 24 Royal Terrace. Amongst the rarities was an original bottling of Glenmorangie 1963, one of the most sought-after Glenmorangie bottlings due to both its history and taste.
Since the launch we had been wondering who should have 53 years of history unsealed before their very eyes, and sample a dram of this exquisite whisky.
The answer? Well, on the 1st June it was an honour and privilege to host Scott Black, President and Member of the Council of The Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, Gordon Dewar, CEO of Edinburgh Airport, and Chris Hoban of the Edinburgh Whisky Blog to do exactly that – we can’t think of anyone more deserving to have opened the bottle for.
The tasting notes for the Glenmorangie 1963 no longer remain blank as after the tasting Chris put pen to paper to give us his own. Does it live up to its reputation? We certainly think so, but that’s for you to answer. Remember though – three down, only twenty-seven left!
