24RT 002 – The Whisky Menu Is (Finally) Born

Let there be light….glorious, golden, warm, glowing light…

What do an Auchentoshan 1965, Lagavulin 21 and Glenmorangie 1963 have in common? No, this isn’t the beginning of an elaborate joke, rather a taster of the unique whisky collection we have here at 24 Royal Terrace.

Gracing our shelves for a number of months, our collection has sat in waiting for us to gather our knowledge, tasting notes (for almost all of them), some dust and a sensible price list before we would feel confident opening these bottles to share with all. Now that time has come.

Whereas most collectors would hoard some of our rarities in their cellar under lock and key, we want to share the opportunity to taste some truly once-in-a-lifetime whiskies with you – and what better setting too than on Royal Terrace, once nicknamed ‘Whisky Row’.

We have menus dedicated to the 70+ whiskies we have, as well as whisky tastings available for those who can’t quite choose one, or are getting into whisky for the first time. But in order to peruse the whole menu, you’re going to have to come and see it for yourself. And of course we can’t pour you a dram of a rarity without using Glencairn glassware.

Our whisky tasting flights are suited to all; we have three to choose from: ‘An Introduction’, ‘For the Inquisitive’ and ‘For the Connoisseur’ – all of which come with mementos to take away with you and look back on.

Just to add that final touch, we’ve had beautiful lighting fitted to make the whiskies really glow.

So for those who do get the opportunity to come and see (and hopefully sample) our collection, it goes without saying: Slàinte!
